Waboba hired me to take over all international customer communications including social media, product copywriting, and website copywriting. The goal was to personalize things more and get closer to the customers. I felt the below tweet from a customer would sum up my responsibilities well. You want customers to not only love your products, but your people too. When both work together, you create loyalists and ambassadors who only spread good things.

Sand-Off is a new company and product to hit the beach market. It’s a mitt with an infused, all-natural patented powder formula that easily and softly wipes away sand without the use of water or those sand-paper like beach towels that traumatize some kids for life. Since it’s a new product, not many people have heard of it, nor have they seen it in action to see how it actually works. It’s a hands-on item that sells itself when it is used. So, I wanted to show people the benefits of Sand-Off and demonstrate how amazing it works. I sacrificed my dislike of sand to bury myself in it and then time how long it takes me to get the sand off my body with my Sand-Off mitt. See for yourself. Since the video’s release on Facebook and Twitter, Sand-Off has seen an increase in sales and we are developing a summer campaign for people to take the Sand-Off Challenge and see how fast they can wipe themselves sand-free too.

I managed Behind the Brand for Motto Agency. Behind the Brand is an online series hosted on Facebook by Motto, a brand strategy and design firm. On the first Tuesday, Motto uses the power of social media to feature an inspiring and innovative company. It gives consumers an inside look to connect with brands on a deeper, more personal level. The event kicks off with an insightful interview with the Founder and is followed by a fun day of promotion with live broadcasts, product giveaways, thoughtful discussions, and engaging commentary all over the web, using Facebook as the primary platform.

As manager, I created fun content and contests paired with product giveaways to interact with our audience and promote the featured brand and series. Since the event is primarily held on Facebook, on average, the brands we feature receive 100+ more Facebook fans during Behind the Brand. As for Motto, certain features have garnered them 300+ fans. My objective was to be fun and engaging so fans will not only connect with us, but they will connect with the brands we feature and become a customer. Brands we’ve featured include: Seventh Generation, Threadless, 18Rabbits, Hint Water, and StoryPeople.
